Editorial

New and improved, and with a fresh look

Welcome to your new-look Cancer Nursing Practice. It has been redesigned based on your feedback to create a fresher, modern and more reader-friendly journal.

All your favourite sections remain – peer-reviewed articles, news, analysis, opinion and careers – some have been renamed or merged and others added.

Our clinical section, previously known as art & science, is now called evidence & practice, and has a summary introducing the section; resources has been incorporated into news, which is where you will find diary listings and journal scan; and the inside back cover now signposts you to articles that feature in other RCNi journals.

Clinical updates

We have also added a page to keep you up to date with government policies, clinical updates and guidelines.

Our website has also been revamped and from now on all articles will appear online first at cancernursingpractice.com. As it develops, the site will offer an intuitive experience with easier access to our archive of articles from all RCNi publications, rolling news, interactive and audiovisual content such as podcasts, author interviews and case studies, and discussions on our Hub.

Please email me with your views on the new online and print format at lisa.berry@rcni.com

Nurse Awards

I hope you enjoy your July edition.

My highlights are the feature on our cover star Verna Lavender and the Bone Cancer Research Trust study team who won the Excellence in Cancer Research category at the RCNi Nurse Awards, and an exclusive interview with NHS England’s national cancer director Cally Palmer in which she encourages frontline nurses to get involved in piloting the cancer plan.
