Advanced clinical practitioners urged to join emergency medicine forum

The Royal College of Emergency Medicine's Advanced Clinical Practitioners’ Forum aims to share best practice and ideas to improve training, as well as shape the development of emergency medicine as a specialty

Advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs) are being urged to join a new forum set up by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.

The college says the Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Practitioners’ Forum will provide a focus and representation for ACPs and those in training for the role.

The work of the forum will include sharing best practice and ideas for improvements to ACP training, disseminating information about changes to training provision and shaping the development of emergency medicine as a specialty.

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust ACP Olivia Wilson has been elected chair of the forum and it will have eight regional representatives from across the UK, also elected by ballot.

The eight regions are Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, London, north of England, south of England, east of England and west of England.

Applicants must be advanced nurses or advanced paramedics working in emergency medicine who are associate members of the college.

The closing date for applications is 30 September at 4pm.
