It is known that people with a learning disability can experience higher rates of mental illness than the wider population. The government and the NHS are actively promoting mental health and well-being. However, existing resources are not always accessible to people with a learning disability. This article describes an event that was organised to support the mental health and well-being of people with a learning disability by using the Five Steps to Mental Well-being.
