If you are looking for some inspiration to develop your nursing career and improve care, then look no further than our Learning Disability Practice webinar.

Innovation in learning disability nursing is the subject of the webinar which this year is being held on 3 November, 12-2pm.

‘Mindful that nurses tend to put others before themselves, there is also a session on innovation of a different kind – self-care and managing your own well-being’

Join us then when you will learn more about one of the latest policy developments – the new integrated care systems - and what they mean for you as a learning disability nurse.

Share experiences on how to make the most of your career opportunities

Mindful that nurses tend to put others before themselves – it goes with the job – and at a time of unprecedented upheaval, including reorganisations, staff shortages and the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, there is also a session on innovation of a different kind – self-care and managing your own well-being.

A panel of nurses, working with people with learning disabilities in several different settings including acute and high security hospitals, will also share their experiences of how they made the most of opportunities to develop their careers and transform services for the better.

And for those of you interested in pursuing more academic qualifications we also welcome Professor Brian Webster-Henderson, deputy vice chancellor, Cumbria University and chair, Council of Deans of Health UK, to talk about academic career pathways.

Webinar attendance is free

As a nurse you have the power to transform healthcare services for the better but having the time and the opportunity are often the barriers that prevent this from happening. So, if you can, put aside two hours at lunchtime on 3 November and join us.

This webinar is free to attend and can provide you with two hours of participatory CPD.

There should be something for everyone. I hope to see you there.
