The RCN Nursing Awards (formerly the RCNi Nurse Awards) recognise the most impressive nurse-led projects of recent years.

The RCN and RCNi are committed to supporting nursing staff with their fight for fair pay and improvement to their working conditions.

It is paramount that we continue to celebrate the nursing profession, whilst also demonstrating empathy with nursing staff during this cost-of-living crisis. We remain dedicated to honouring the work of the nursing workforce, especially those who have taken the time to enter this year’s awards. Considering the above factors, the RCN have made the decision to change the format of this year’s awards ceremony.

The RCN Nursing Awards will now be held at the Royal College of Nursing HQ at 20 Cavendish Square on 6 October. We will provide all attendees with a networking lunch, followed by the awards ceremony and a post-ceremony drinks reception.

We are confident that the new format will continue to showcase the very best in nursing and we are doing everything we can to ensure that our finalists and sponsors have a memorable and exceptional experience.

The RCN Nursing Awards celebrate incredible contributions to outstanding patient care and are open to all UK nurses, midwives, health visitors, nursing students and nursing support workers. You do not need to be an RCN member to enter the RCN Nursing Awards.

Covering a wide range of specialties, including learning disability nursing, child health, cancer nursing, mental health nursing and nursing older people, the awards are the highest accolade for nurses in the UK.

We want you to share your experiences of innovative nursing-led projects and inspiring nursing practice so we can highlight the remarkable accomplishments of you and your colleagues in every care setting and at every career stage. We can share your practice with a wider audience, so even more people will benefit from what you do.

Finalists and winners of the RCN Nursing Awards often see their careers accelerate thanks to the recognition and exposure they receive from entering the awards. Many past winners have gone on to even more outstanding achievements and have become influencers in nursing practice on a national scale.

  • Network with key nurses and influencers.
  • Celebrate the achievements of your team.
