Assessing acute myocardial infarction
<p>This paper sets out to demonstrate the need for accurate nursing assessment of patients admitted to A&E after acute myocardial infarction (MI). It considers the issues of communication, pain relief and the need for prompt thrombolysis in the absence of contraindications. The role of the emergency care specialist is proposed as central to the provision of nursing care.</p>
