Penetrating trauma a case of the unexpected
<p>Increasing pressures on the NHS, and emergency services in particular, have forced a review of care delivery in the A&E setting, specifically those patients requiring emergency care following major trauma. The result of this review has been the continuing emergence of specialist major trauma centres, which aim to provide centres of excellence based on high standards of evidence-based trauma care.</p>
