Plant poisoning

Ingestion of plant material is a relatively common cause of enquiry to poisons information centres. Enquiries about bulbs such as daffodil and snowdrop, are common in the spring and autumn. Most plant enquiries occur in the autumn when many plants are in fruit. At Christmas the popular plants are mistletoe, holly, Christmas or winter cherry and poinsettia. House plants can be involved at any time of the year.
