Darzi report shows services for people with learning disabilities ‘falling far short’

Lord Darzi's report on the state of the NHS in England highlights that the numbers of learning disability nurses has dropped from 44%, on average, since 2010-11, and says the Mencap statistic that only four in ten people with learning disabilities live to their 65th birthday  ‘deserves further investigation’. The report also underlines health inequalities, with many not getting vital health checks.
