Earlier this month, Liverpool’s largest nursing recruitment event took place at the city’s Exhibition Centre when hundreds of nurses and nursing students attended the RCN Bulletin Jobs Fair.

From newly qualified nurses to those with years of experience looking for a new direction, RCN Bulletin Jobs Fairs have been helping to develop the careers of thousands of nurses across the UK since 2009.

Jobs Fair Liverpool 2017 brought together more than 40 leading employers from across the city and the UK, including NHS trusts, hospitals, private healthcare organisations, care homes and the armed forces.

Opportunity and challenge

For those interested in a career in mental health or working with people with learning disabilities, representatives from Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust were on hand to discuss the numerous opportunities for nurses at the trust, one of the largest care providers in the north west.

For nurses wanting to specialise in cancer care, roles are available at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, the largest single cancer centre in Europe and rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.

Or if a career in the Royal Navy appeals, you can learn new skills and contribute to vital operations as a member of the Royal Naval Reserves.

Roles and offers

Attendees had the opportunity to meet employers face-to-face, with the possibility of attending interviews and even receiving job offers on the day. Many of those who have attended an RCN Bulletin Jobs Fair have secured offers on the day, leading to successful nursing roles. One attendee was offered three jobs in one day.

Jobs Fairs also offer free, CPD-accredited seminar programmes, where industry experts and experienced nursing role models can offer career advice, discuss job opportunities and help attendees evaluate their skills and develop their careers.

From revalidation and improving your CV to working for the ambulance service or in Australia, the packed seminar programmes have something for everybody, with attendees also hearing about opportunities in forensic nursing, working in the private sector and career pathways in nursing older people.

Like-minded

Whether you are looking for your first nursing role, want to advance your career, or are looking for a new challenge, RCN Jobs Fairs give you the opportunity to join hundreds of like-minded nurses under one roof.

So why not come along to Jobs Fair London, which takes place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on 3-4 October.
