NHS Trusts and equal opportunities

<p>The Equal Opportunities Commission (HOC) report on women’s employment in the National Health Service was generally critical of current equal opportunities practice (1). One area in which the EOC indicated concern for the future was pay: 'The growing autonomy of NHS units to award total pay additions, and the move away from centralised pay bargaining by NHS Trusts, may exacerbate gender differentials in pay.’ (1)</p>
