Would you like to write for Learning Disability Practice?

Learning Disability Practice is written for nurses and health professionals who care for people with learning, or intellectual, disabilities.

The journal publishes original researchupdates in policy or in practice guidelines in the field of learning disabilities, descriptions of practice innovation, literature reviews, case studies, opinion articlesnews, analysis and features.

It also publishes continuing professional development articles to inform, support and educate nurses working in this field of practice, and to help contributors and readers prepare for revalidation.

If you have an idea for an article or how to develop the journal online or in print, the editorial team wants to hear from you. We have a particular focus on the following areas:

  • Care and treatment reviews
  • Minimising restrictive practices
  • Mental health problems in people with learning disabilities
  • Positive behaviour support
  • Caring for clients with specific syndromes

Submit your article

When you are ready to submit your article, you should do so online through our online submission system, Editorial Manager.

Using the prompts, you must first register as an author by entering the required information and following the on-screen instructions.

After you have completed these steps, you will be sent an email with instructions on how to activate your registration and complete the process.
