Deadline extended for RCN Nursing Awards 2023

There’s still time to get your entries in for the UK’s most prestigious nursing awards after the deadline was extended.

Nurses and nursing teams can now submit their entries to the RCN Nursing Awards 2023 up until 9am on 15 May.

The awards offer nurses, nursing students and nursing support workers the chance to share their innovations and expertise, as well as celebrate their contribution to improving care outcomes for their patients.

Entries are open to individuals and teams in 15 categories that capture the diversity of nursing.

Awards can shine a light on specialties

The awards will be judged by an expert judging panel chaired by Foundation of Nursing Studies chief executive Joanne Bosanquet.

‘We know nurses are incredibly busy at the moment and we don’t want this to stand in the way of this opportunity for them to share their excellent practice with the rest of the profession,’ Ms Bosanquet said.

‘Through the awards, they can improve care for even more people than those they directly care for.

‘Finalists and winners are featured in local, regional and national media, and RCNi’s nursing journals, so entering these awards can also shine a spotlight on the particular challenges a specialty might face, or highlight an overlooked group of people and their needs.’

Awards ceremony coincides with new Nursing Live event

Alongside nominations from colleagues and individuals, the Patient’s Choice category gives the public an opportunity to nominate a nurse or nursing support worker who has made a difference to their lives. The winner will be decided by public vote.

The award winners will be announced at a ceremony at Liverpool Cathedral on 10 November, including the RCN Nurse of the Year 2023, who will be chosen from the pool of winners.

The ceremony coincides with RCNi's exciting new Nursing Live event on 10-11 November. Nursing Live will bring thousands of nurses together to network, share best practice and access high-quality professional development.
